 You learn English and you like to collect some interesting information have correlative to the language that you are learning, as mentioned below are some interesting information that make you “surprise”.

1.    The word “queue” is the only word in the English language that is still pronounced the same way when the last four letters are removed.

The word means: a line of people, cars, etc. waiting for something or to do something.


2.    The word “set” has the most definitions of all the words in the English language.

The word means:

·         To put something/ somebody in a particular place or position.

·         To cause somebody/ something to be in a particular state; to star something happening.

·         To place the action of a play, novel or film/ movie in particular place, time, etc.

·         To prepare arrange knives, forks, or arrange something so that it is ready for use or in position.

·         To arrange knives, forks, etc. on a table for a meal.

·         To put a precious stone into a piece of jewelry.

·         To arrange or fix something; to decide something.


·         To fix something so that others copy it or try to achieve it.

·         To give somebody a piece of work, a task, etc.

·         To become firm or hard.

·         To fix your face into a firm expression.

·         To arrange somebody’s hair while it is wet so that it dries in a particular style.

·         To put a broken bone a fixed position and hold it there, so that it will heal; to heal in this way.

·         To write music to go with words.

·         To go down below the horizon.

3.    “Almost” is the longest word in the English language with all the letters in alphabetic al order.

4.    “Rhythm” is the longest English word without a vowel.

5.    Right handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people.

6.    Your ribs move about 5 million times a year, every time you breathe.

7.    The elephant is the only mammal that cannot jump.

8.    Like fingerprints, everyone’s tongue print is different.
